Steve Timms studied Theatre at the University of Huddersfield. In 1997 he won the Independent on Sunday's Young Journalist of the Year Award. He then spent 5 years earning a meagre living as a freelance theatre critic, writing for The Big Issue and the late lamented City Life.

As an actor, Steve has appeared in numerous fringe productions including: The Newlyweds (Rabid Dog Theatre, also writer); Filthy Lies, Clean Breasts (Northern Elastic, Edinburgh Fringe, also co-writer); Phaedra's Love (Corridor Theatre); Dreams of the Witch-House (Mythos Projects); and Unidentified Human Remains (Aberrant Theatre). He appeared in the orginal Granny Must Die at the 2001 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Other productions include Loot, What the Butler Saw, A Skull in Connemara, Frozen, To Damascus, The Mysterious Mr Love, and Death of a Salesman. Steve has spent the last ten years writing a novel; it will be available at various car boot sales throughout the North West early next year.

Steve has one Radio 4 drama to his credit, American beer (broadcast Jan 2000). He also wrote and starred in Detox Mansion and Lovesick, produced at the first two 24:7 Festivals (of the latter, one critic wrote: "I had no idea where it was going or how it got there.")

Ian Townsend studied Drama at Padgate College, Warrington, and has been Entertainment Manager of a theme park, Artistic Director of a theatre company, and Assistant Manager of a record shop, in a bewildering mess of a career.

Now working freelance as a writer, simulated patient roleplayer and shop assistant, Ian has directed more than 28 plays, including Frozen, Noises Off, A Pair of Spectacles, Twelve Angry Men, Popcorn, Kiss Me Like You Mean It and What the Butler Saw. He has appeared in many productions, usually intentionally, including playing 6 different parts in Good Things (he's very versatile), and just the 1 part in The Handyman, Pygmalion, Funny About Love, Hamp and The Old Woman Who Lived In a Shoe, to name but 5.

As well as writing and directing (and occasionally appearing) for Northern Elastic, Ian is working on various writing projects, newsletters and would-be lucrative sitcoms. His play Well Groomed & Bride Awake was given a rehearsed reading at The Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester in July 2007, and he wrote, directed and acted in Granny Must Die for Manchester's 24:7 Theatre Festival in July 2008.

Ian is currently trying very hard.
